Justin Shaffer was born and raised in Denver, Colorado where he enlisted in to the Army after high school. He has nearly 22 years of service and is currently stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. He has completed a multitude of military training including Ranger School, Sniper School, Pathfinder school and both the Airborne and Jumpmaster courses. He was assigned as an instructor at the US Army Sniper School and deployed to Afghanistan as a Sniper Section leader with the famed 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (Band of Brothers). During his time as a sniper he competed in numerous International Competitions winning the US Army International Sniper Competition Twice as well as finishing as the top individual shooter both times. He has also competed at the Canadian International Sniper Concentration 3 times winning the coveted "Treger" and "Diemaco" trophies as the top individual shooter. Currently in addition to his on going career in the military Justin runs and is the co-owner of TNT Guides in Chugiak, Alaska.
His passion for hunting has spanned a lifetime and has cultivated in to what can only be described as an "obsession". Justin has been fortunate enough to hunt on 6 of the 7 Continents. He's hunted in over a dozen US States and many foreign destinations that include, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom. He is a die hard passionate bowhunter who has completed the North American Deer Slam and has taken 4 Dall Sheep 5 mountain goats and 3 musk ox with archery tackle to name a few. In addition to the 16 North American species he has harvested, he has also taken many international big game animals such as tahr,wolf, ibex, chamois, roe deer, muntjac, red stag, sambar, rusa and axis among others. When hes not chasing something somewhere in the world or planning his next hunt he loves sharing time in the outdoors with friends and family.
