April – September

Our outfitter is ideally suited to all the Australian deer species, offering the hunter an opportunity to hunt red stag, Javan Rusa, Moluccan Rusa, sambar, fallow, axis and hog deer plus blackbuck antelope at one location.

The red stags are a majestic deer with large, impressive antlers. Their coat is a reddish-brown and develops a neck mane during the April roar.

These stags originated from England and Scotland and were released throughout Australia during the 18th century. A good set of antler will have six or more points per side. This outfitter has virtually rewritten the record book on big Rusa (Javan and Moluccan), Sambar, hog deer, axis deer and blackbuck. Javan Rusa are the larger of the two Rusa deer. Originating form Indonesia, they were first introduced in the late 18th century. They typically have three points per side will average 33-35 inches in length. Similar to the Javan in overall appearance the Moluccan Rusa, released in 1912 from the Moluccan Islands is smaller in body and antler size. Heavy pearling of the antlers is a common characteristic and average 20-22 inches in length.

Sambars are large and extremely wary deer, and are considered one of the South Pacific’s most prestigious trophy animals. Color range from grayish-brown to almost black with the males sporting a small neck mane. Introduced from Sri Lanka and India in the 1860’s, these deer sport antlers with three points per side and average 24-30 inches in length.

Nobody comes close to producing the top-quality trophies like this outfitter. They take pride in their reputation for delivering top quality hunts and exceptional service. They are family owned and operated outfitter offering exclusive hunting at two privately owned destinations: Southeast Queensland and Marble Island. The Queensland estate is ideally situated by the remote mountain headwaters of the Mary and Brisbane river valleys and is comprised of 20,000 acres of undulating bush country descending onto lightly timbered valleys. Rooms have private ensuite bath, TV, access to kitchen, laundry, Wi-Fi internet access, e-mail, fax and telephone. This working cattle ranch is home to the reclusive platypus, kangaroo, wallabies, koalas and dingo. Marble Island, named for its abundant white and pink marble, is situated at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef. It has free-range hunting for Javan Rusa, axis, fallow and Sambar deer. It also offers rock and reef fishing for snapper, sweet lip, red emperor and other tropical fish. Your party will be accommodated in a modern, comfortably furnished cottage located on your own swim beach. In season, green sea turtles lay their eggs on the island beaches and hump back whales can be seen breaching around the islands during their southern migration. Both lodges are located near some of the most famous beaches, resorts and golf courses in Australia and is a great place to bring the family. Sightseeing can be coordinated around your hunt.
