This southeast Alaska fishing lodge is located near a small fishing community on Chichagof Island, one of the best locations in the state for really big halibut and feisty salmon. State-of-the-art custom boats have heated cabins and top notch fishing tackle and rain gear provided. A number of small streams and rivers nearby are added an bonus for the freshwater fishing enthusiast who wants to try their luck casting a fly or lure for dolly varden, trout, or salmon. The waterfront lodge caters to any party, from couples to corporate groups of up to twenty five guests. The all wood interior lodge is a mixture of cedar and pine with vaulted ceilings, a wood burning stove and a cozy atmosphere that invites relaxation. Each bedroom suite features two full sized beds and either a shared or private bath. The wrap-around windows and deck provide an unbelievable view of the Fairweather mountain range. The highlight of the trip may be the delicious meals! Mornings are started off with fresh coffee followed by a hot breakfast that could consist of anything from wild blueberry pancakes topped with warm maple syrup and thick bacon slices to Alaskan grilled salmon hash topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Lunch and drinks will be packed on board for your full day on the water. After returning to the dock for photos and to swap stories with the other guests, you can watch the fish cutters clean, fillet, and vacuum pack your catch. Return to the lodge for a hot shower and enjoy appetizers and a beverage of choice on the deck while reliving your exciting day on the water. Mouth-watering entrees each evening may consist of beer battered halibut to hardwood flavored roasted prime rib. Top it off with tiramisu or chocolate mousse for dessert! The abundant wildlife and incredible glacial scenery is all part of the experience. Superior guest services, four-star cuisine, and excellent guides is what you can expect when you book this halibut and salmon trip.
