North America’s Premier Tailwater

Outfitter #432
from
$1,625
Location:
Method:
Fly Fishing

With a trout population of 5,000 plus fish per mile that average nearly 18 inches, it’s no surprise that the Grey Reef tailwater on the North Platte River is the premier trout fishery in the West. There is no other river in the Lower 48 that consistently produces more 5 pound plus wild trout than the North Platte. Beginning as a scenic freestone stream in the Colorado mountains, the North Platte River flows in a northerly direction through Wyoming’s Medicine Bow National Forest. Downstream, the river enters the foothills of Wyoming, becoming a tailwater fishery.  With a regulated flow of cool oxygenated water, the fishing is excellent all season long.  It’s not uncommon to catch several dozen fish in a day. A brand new Swedish Cope Log Lodge includes private decks with incredible views, three bedrooms with private rooms and two with shared bath.  Your guide will pick you up each morning after breakfast and return you to the lodge after a day on the water where you’ll be treated to a delicious dinner.  Give our office a call to book a trip on this premier trout fishery.
