September – October
This private land elk hunting lies in one of the most sought after elk units in the West. The 30,000 acre property is an elk hunter’s paradise. The region offers some of the best scenery in the country along with some great bulls. The property can accommodate just about anyone’s physical capabilities. A good network of ranch roads allows you and your guide to access the property where you will glass for that trophy bull and close the distance for the shot. Rifle hunts begin in early September when bulls begin to bugle and gather their harem of cows. While the September hunts are exciting, the later October hunts are just as good and may offer a better opportunity at a bigger bull. With cooler temperatures in October (plus incredible Fall colors), more elk begin to migrate onto to the property and it’s not uncommon to encounter several dozen elk on a given day. When the day’s hunting comes to an end, retreat to the 27,000-sq.-ft., five star lodge for superb meals and open bar (excluding wine). Accommodations include private bedrooms and bathrooms, an onsite spa and luxurious furniture. This truly is the western experience-of-a-lifetime.
