New Mexico Free Range Oryx Hunting on White Sands Missile Range

WTA TAGS
Draw
Required

Description

The New Mexico Department of Game & Fish released 93 Oryx onto the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in the Tularosa Basin. The herd took to the arid desert better than expected and the current herd is estimated to be approximately 2000 animals. New Mexico now offers the opportunity to hunt this herd through an open lottery once–in-a-lifetime draw. This is a classic safari style spot-and-stalk hunt, for the African Gemsbok AKA Oryx, which any applicant, getting lucky in the draw, can participate in without leaving the United States! The hunt will take place over a three day weekend with hunt dates ranging from September through February each year. The hunter can plan which weekends make the most sense for their schedule and apply for that tag. This can be a great opportunity for a hunt in the off-season! Although a guide is not required for this hunt we have found that the overall success rate on trophy caliber animals is much higher when the lucky tag holders are assisted by a WSMR approved outfitter, on these short once-in-a-lifetime adventures. Call WTA TAGS today to talk about this amazing opportunity, and to get applied for this awesome tag 1-800-755-TAGS(8247.
