Description

Hunting Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains is always one of WTA TAGS client favorite destinations. This region has a healthy herd of elk, deer, Shiras moose and best of all no wolves.

Our Wyoming veteran outfitter of 36-years grew up in an outfitter family. Spanning more than a century of hunting experience, the hunting tradition has been passed down through his family beginning with the first homesteader on the family ranch in Southern Wyoming in 1867.

The Bighorn mountains are not as high as other Wyoming ranges and most hunting takes place at elevations up to 6,500-ft. This 10,000-acre private ranch is incredible. Hunters will be in the field at 0-dark hundred hours to start glassing at first light and again late in the evening when the elk are back up and feeding. This is a gentleman’s elk hunt conducted out of 4x4 pickups you will spend several hours glassing up elk and evaluating trophy potential and planning final stalk. Hunters are guided 2x1 and will typically see up to fifteen 6-point bulls per day. Average bulls score 310-330 with lucky hunters taking bulls up to 360”. With only 4-8 hunters per year, outfitter has been 100% success over the last several seasons.
