Southeastern Wyoming First Class Elk Hunt
The Southeast corner of Wyoming is one of the best kept secrets in elk hunting. The vast amount of private property that exist in these areas has allowed the landowner and outfitter to run their operations with high quality management resulting in excellent hunting. With as little as ONE preference point a hunter can draw these tags and plan your trip. Quality elk hunts that take so few preference points are a rarity into todays market place! Preference points can be purchased until the end of October each year, just in time to plan a trip for the following fall. These elk hunts can be planned for both archery or rifle season. The archery hunts happen in mid to late September while the rifle hunts are the first couple of weeks in October. What this means is that no matter when you plan your trip you are more than likely to be hunting bugling bulls. There are only 13 elk hunts sold yearly on this 60,000 acre property and with the countless pine ridges and deep cuts throughout the ranch the elk are spread out across the majority of the property. The style of hunting will be spot and stalk along with calling techniques when appropriate. This past season yielded near 100% shot opportunity on bulls and 90% harvest. Mule deer and antelope can be added to elk hunts to make an exciting two or three species hunt. This is a excellent option for groups of up to 4 hunters to have exclusive use of the ranch and lodging. Accommodations are second to none with a historic rock house that has been the focal point of this region for over 100 years. Archery hunts will take place in mid September during the rut.
Rifle hunts will take place in early October.

Sample Itinerary: Day 1: Fly to Laramie WY or Denver CO rent car and drive to the ranch
Day 2-6: Hunt
Day 7: Depart for home.

Level 2 - These hunts are mostly conducted on private ranches. Species include mule deer, elk, antelope; additionally, some caribou and African plains game hunts. Moderate to light hiking each day in semi-mountainous terrain.
