Shiras Moose Hunting in Wyoming
This 100,000+ acre private ranch, located in southwest Wyoming, holds an abundant population of elk, mule deer, antelope and of course – trophy Shiras moose. Best of all, this enormous ranch has not been effected by the wolf issues you’ve probably been reading about in much of the western part of the state. Therefore, if you’ve been diligent about building WY moose preference points and are currently sitting on 14 or more, this hunt should definitely be strongly considered. WTA TAGS has worked with this outfitter for several years, and TAGS consultant Frank Cole, recently utilized his personal WY moose points here and took a great bull on film. From Cole’s perspective, you can expect to encounter multiple moose each day in search of your trophy bull. Trophy quality averages will typically be 36- 42 inches in width, with nice palmation and several points per side. Polaris Rangers are used to access the hunting grounds. The terrain varies from sage brush bottoms to mountain tops ranging in elevation from 7,500-10,000 ft. A three-story log lodge will be your home during the course of this hunt. The lodge is nothing short of deluxe and features eleven spacious bedrooms with plenty of space for hunting gear. Bathrooms with large walk-in showers, three separate living rooms, a nice dining area and two large flat-screen TV's will round-out your stay. Also, laundry service is available and a stocked trout pond is right out the back door. Non-hunters will be more than comfortable here.
“Don’t waste over a decade of applying by taking a chance on a moose area with possible wolf issues. While this hunt is at an upper-end price point, it’s certainly worth the extra investment for this truly magnificent and rare North American species – the Shiras moose!”
