A true pack-in wilderness elk hunt on horseback is every hunter’s dream. This family-owned outfitter has been taking hunters into the backcountry of Wyoming since 1973. These wilderness elk hunts offer seclusion in unspoiled elk country, typically ranging from 60–80% opportunity on bulls. Whether it’s an archery or rifle hunt, you’ll spot and stalk, bugle, walk, and ride horses, so get in shape and practice shooting and riding. Ranging in elevation from 9,000–11,000 feet, these mountain elk hunts are very rigorous, and you must be physically fit and healthy to book a hunt. You can expect long hours of horseback riding and walking in rugged, high-altitude terrain. Camps are normally limited to just 2–4 hunters and the rifle hunts still offer excellent bugling activity.
A General Elk Tag is required for this hunt. General tags are currently taking 5+ points to draw in the “special” and 5+ in the “regular” category for 2024 onward. If you have questions about this hunt, would like to book, or would like assistance applying for the Wyoming elk draw, please contact WTA TAGS at 1-800-755-8247 or email us at TAGS@trophyadventures.com.
