Belize - Turneffe Island

Description

The Turneffe Atoll has been recognized as one of the world's premier flats fishing destinations. Turneffe Island is located 30 miles off the coast of Belize on the picturesque Turneffe Atoll, the largest and most biologically-diverse coral atoll in the Western Hemisphere.  Now protected as Belize's newest and largest Marine Reserve, Turneffe is remote and beautiful, yet easily accessible by large transfer boat.  One of the few places on the planet where a fly angler has a legitimate shot at taking a Grand Slam (bonefish, permit, tarpon in same day). Bonefishing here offers something for anglers of all levels, from novice to expert. Permit have become the primary objective of many of our clients and you can expect to get daily shots at fish in the 10-35 lb. range. Tarpon are available year-round with the summer and early fall months being the prime time for larger migratory fish. The guides operate a fleet of Dolphin Super Skiffs and are experienced at spotting fish and positioning their anglers. Spacious, air-conditioned guest rooms are located on a tropical beach. Delicious meals are served three times a day in the main lodge dining room. The reef offers some of the very best diving and snorkeling in the world. Combination fishing and diving packages available.
