Conventional Fishing, Fly Fishing

If you’ve dreamed of catching chrome bright Salmon until your arms ached, this is the place that it happens. When we first fished this river, we knew the search was over for the perfect Alaskan fly fishing location.

This family as over thirty years of experience guiding anglers on this river! There are five family members that actively guide anglers from their Camps. You will have the opportunity to fish the countless salmon pools and runs. The Chosen River is world renowned for its strong runs of King, Chum, Sockeye, Pink and Silver Salmon. These fish are fresh from the sea and quick to attack a fly. Guests also have the option of float fishing for Leopard Rainbow trout, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden and Grayling, or anglers can walk and wade small remote side channels where it is possible to spot and stalk large Leopard Rainbows. These rainbows are the most beautiful trout on earth and they are extremely aggressive. This is the best river WTA has ever found to catch big leopard rainbows on a mouse pattern, and salmon in the same day! With the abundance of nine different species of fish, combined with the incredible habitat, structure and holding water, this river is truly one of the finest fly fishing rivers in the world! Each double occupancy tent features carpeted floors, electric lights and heaters. The shower tent with hot and cold running water is ready to go 24 hours a day. They have a separate drying tent and a large dining tent that also serves as a gathering place in the mornings and evenings. The menu at these camps includes homemade bread, desserts, fresh salads, fruits and vegetables and large cuts of quality meats. If you want to experience true Alaskan wilderness and some of the most spectacular fishing in the world then this is the trip for you!

This world class outfitter has three incredible options to offer you allowing you to choose the best suited fishing style to match your dream trip in Alaska. And we have wader in the river experience on every trip this crew offers. From float trips to slaying kings at the lower base camp, we can help guide you into the trip of your dreams.

Upper Base Camp: This location is perfect for anglers looking to maximize the amount of time targeting large rainbow trout with Mouse patterns as well as wade fishing the many side channels of the river. But don’t think you won’t have a chance to fish salmon here, isolated pools and runs are loaded up with fresh fish every day. This camp is located in the wilderness area and offers true solitude and often angling days with no other anglers seen. This is the only commercial location in the wilderness area on this great river.

Lower Base Camp: This location has without question the finest chrome bright salmon fishing you can find. Catching aggressive fish still covered in sea lice will test your endurance for sure. The salmon pour into the staging pools here with the tides, providing a non-stop march of fresh fish all day. Fishing for Dolly’s and rainbow trout is also exceptional here, Grayling are also available but in more limited numbers than at the upper river base camp.
