Description

The Greys River in Western Wyoming carves its way through a beautiful high mountain valley with the Salt River Mountain Range to the west and the Wyoming Mountain Range to the east. On this hunt you will utilize a wall tent camp which is situated at roughly 7,500 ft. while hunting can take place anywhere from 6,000-9,000 ft. This area requires the use of hearty and experienced mountain horses to access the large and rugged wilderness areas. Motorized vehicles are not allowed within the areas that carry a designated wilderness title.

Hunters can expect to either ride out from camp early each morning or trailer horses to other portions of the area. Rides into the hunting areas can take as little as 30 minutes up to a couple of hours for the adventuresome hunter seeking the most remote country. Once in the hunting area large amounts of glassing and hiking can be expected while in pursuit of the  bucks that call this area home. Region G is arguably one of Wyoming's top units in terms of producing trophy mule deer bucks. Success on this hunt is largely dependent on the hunter being physically and mentally prepared for the hunt.

This camp strikes an ideal balance between classic wall tent atmosphere and modern comforts. Guests here enjoy heated sleeping tents on wood platforms, a cozy cook tent, a shower, and restroom facilities. The sleeping tents include full sized beds, area rugs and updated lighting. Bedding and pillows are also provided, so there is no need to bring a sleeping bag on this hunt. Husband and wife teams will have their own private tent.

This hunt does require you to draw a Wyoming Region G Deer Tag. Historically clients do need to have 6 preference point to draw this tag.
