Colorado Elk Hunt


Northwest Colorado elk hunting at its finest on 25,000 private acres of picture perfect elk habitat. This part of Colorado is home to one of the largest elk herds in the country and you get to hunt these bulls during the September rut all the way through to December when large herds migrate through the ranch! This Ranching For Wildlife property means licenses are guaranteed and you can hunt with any legal weapon of choice (rifle, muzzleloader, bow). Past hunters have encountered an average of 20-50 elk a day on these early hunts with a high success on 5x5 and some 6x6 bulls. Some great mule deer hunting is also available and can be combined with an elk hunt!  Elevation ranges from 6,250' - 9,000'. Method of transportation is 4x4 vehicles and/or Polaris ranger type vehicles to access the property where you and your guide will then hunt by foot. A very comfortable lodge, located on the ranch, will be your home away from home for the week. The lodge features four bedrooms, two very large restrooms, dining area, great room, bar, and deck overlooking the property.

Physical Requirement Level

Level 2 - These hunts are mostly conducted on private ranches. Species include mule deer, elk, antelope; additionally, some caribou and African plains game hunts. Moderate to light hiking each day in semi-mountainous terrain.
