Western Wyoming Wilderness Elk Hunt- General Tag

This camp is convenietly located just 20 miles from Alpine, Wyoming. This experienced outfitter offers archery, crossbow (which can be used in archery season) and rifle hunts across a vast area. Shot opportunities are extremely high regardless of the weapon used. Overall harvest success is primarily dictated by the hunters physical abilities. Hunters can either leave out from camp on horseback or trailer the horses to other areas  and hunt from there. Operating hunts in this manner allows for more country to be covered thus reducing pressure on game when compared to hunting the same area repeatedly. The use of horses is near mandatory due to the vast expanses of roadless mountains. These hunts can also become very physical, so make sure you come prepared for some very steep country and some time on your boots in areas that the horses cannot access. These rugged, high-alpine areas offer a true adventure, as well as an excellent chance to harvest trophy bull elk in the 290″ class, with much larger bulls being harvested annually.

Camp consists of 12 large wall tents all equipped with two twin beds, wood floors, lighting and a wood stove. Hunters will enjoy hot and hearty meals in an extra-large separate dining tent.

A General Elk Tag is required for this hunt. General tags are taking 5+ points to draw in the “special” and 7+ in the “regular” category for 2024 onward.
