Few places in the West rival the mule deer producing power of Arizona’s units 13A & 13B. These units are often referred to as “The Strip” amongst most muley enthusiasts. Geographically The Strip encompasses 5,074 square miles of northwestern Arizona. Elevations here will range from 1,500-8,000 feet with the primary hunting areas made up of rolling hills and canyons containing sagebrush, junipers and pinyon pines.
WTA’s trusted outfitters within The Strip spend 12 months a year preparing for the short hunting season. Early spring will find them shed hunting, transitioning into running trail cameras and glassing for bucks as the antlers grow.
During the archery season hunters can expect to primarily hunt from ground blinds over water sources. Spot and stalk hunting can also be successful during this time. Rifle hunters can expect to spend their days glassing from vantage points until finding a dream buck, then stalking into shooting position.
Few hunts in the country give you a better opportunity than The Strip for harvesting a 200”+ inch buck. In fact, it is not uncommon to see several 230”+ bucks come off The Arizona Strip on a normal year.
Arizona issues these amazing tags each year through their big game drawing process. These tags are extremely limited, but are bonus point based, meaning you could potentially draw a tag the first year you apply. If you wish to bypass this difficulty, a limited number of tags are auctioned off yearly. It won’t be cheap, but it is a way to position yourself into probably the very best mule deer hunting on earth.
If you have questions regarding this hunt or would like assistance applying into the Arizona big game draw please contact WTA TAGS at 1-800-755-TAGS(8247) or TAGS@trophyadventures.com.
