Central Montana Archery Elk Hunt

Outfitter #799
from
$6,498
Location:
Method:
Archery
Dates:

September & October (5 1/2 day hunts)

Want to hunt elk in central Montana? If so, we have a spot for you. This outfitter operates in the Musselshell River Country in the central part of the state. In addition to leasing several large private ranches they are permitted to guide on large areas of state land, so they can hunt where the elk are at any given time of the season. Tactics for hunting elk range from strategically placed stands on trails and water to “spot and stalk” along with bugling or cow calling for the bulls that roam this area. While they cannot promise all hunters will go home with a bull, they do enjoy a very high success rate on providing shot opportunities!

The habitat in this hunting area ranges from foothill benches, prairie grasslands, grain fields, hayfields, along with creek bottoms and river bottoms. Elevation will vary between 3500’ and 6500’.

Accommodations for this hunt include staying in a large refurbished rustic hunting lodge. The lodge offers a spectacular view of the Little Belt and Castle Mountains. The lodge is solid, well insulated and spacious. Sleeping quarters are bedroom style, with very comfortable beds. All bedding is provided. Hearty breakfasts and suppers are served family style each day in the dining room with lunches eaten in the field if unable to return to the lodge.

These hunts require drawing an elk license, but the general elk license can typically be drawn with only 0-1 preference point. If you have questions regarding this hunt, would like to get booked, or would like assistance applying into the Montana draw – please contact WTA TAGS at 1-800-755-TAGS(8247) or email TAGS@trophyadventures.com.
