Outfitter # 004

Utah Private Land Trophy Elk Hunt

This hunt occurs in Utah on 100% private land. You can either draw the permit if you have enough points, or you can purchase a conservation permit at a local banquet or show. WTA can assist you with this. Trophy bull tags need to be drawn for the Wasatch unit by either residents or non-residents on a limited entry draw in May (applications due in February). The elk rifle season is 9 days long and the archery elk season is nearly a month long. Muzzleloader season is around the same as the rifle. The hunter will have the entire property exclusively with no other hunter at the same time. This property is a family owned operation. The ranch is 6,000 acres, and is located within the boundaries of the Uintah-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in North-Central Utah, and is approximately 90 minutes from Salt Lake City. The Ranch's landscape is made up of conifers, aspen, oak, grass meadows, natural springs, streams, and ponds. This creates the perfect habitat for elk, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, moose, grouse, and waterfowl. The ranch has experienced a 95% success rate for limited entry bull elk hunts over the past 20 years, with an average gross score of 350+. the owners watch the bulls year in and year out, hunting only the most mature bulls each season. Because of the heavy pressure outside of the private land, the bulls harvested each year are those that have learned at a young age that they are much more comfortable on their property. Because of this, the family has been able to watch bulls grow from very young bulls, into big trophy-class bulls. Below are some pics of bulls taken in the past. The trail cam pics are of bulls that are still alive from this past season.
