August – September
This “DO IT YOURSELF” (DIY) caribou hunt takes place in Western Alaska, home of the Western Artic Caribou. This caribou herd is the largest known herd in the state, it is said to be over 250,000 and growing. Specializing in DIY unguided caribou drop camps, this transporter will carefully preselect your campsite within or ahead the migration. Ultimatly, the goal is to maximize your odds of success. These unguided hunts are not for everyone, hunters need to be mentally and physically prepared. Over the past years, hunters have reported exceptionally high shot opportunities on trophy bulls. Hunters need to familiarize themselves on field judging bulls and meat extraction prior to taking the field. These 5 day hunts, are fully outfitted with modern tent camp equipment and an adequate amount of food for the duration of your trip. Upon arrival in Kotzebue, you and you hunting partners will be met by the transporter, briefed on the trip followed by a 20min – 60 min charter to your hunt area. Your first day will be spent setting up your camp and glassing the area. NO HUNTING ON THE DAY YOU ARRIVE. Drop camp caribou hunting in the remotes of Alaska is an extremely rewarding and memorable trip. If you’re a DIY hunter dreaming of Alaska, this is the ultimate hunt for you.
