Kodiak Island Fishing, Sitka Blacktail and Sea Duck Combos

Outfitter #470
Conventional Fishing

Fishing only: June – August

Fish/Hunt: August – October

Alaska’s Kodiak Island is famous for two things: big brown bears and great fishing. The water surrounding the island consistently provide some of our best saltwater angling for big king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, ling cod and other species. After conducting extensive research in the area, WTA has teamed up with one of our most experienced guides on the island. Born and raised in the Old Harbor area, our outfitter here produces tremendous catches for our clients, as well as a glimpse into the fascinating lifestyle of native Kodiak people. A good number of our clients fish Alaska on a regular basis- having done so for many years- and rate this outfitter as their No. 1 choice for an Alaskan salmon/halibut combination trip. The months of May through July are prime time for really big king salmon, with August through September producing strong catches of large silvers. Halibut and other bottom species are a given and can be taken during any of the salmon runs. Fishing is conducted from comfortable and seaworthy 24-ft. Seasport fiberglass boats, with all tackle provided. Transport for self-guided Sitka blacktail hunting and sea duck hunting is also included!  Fish filleting and vacuum packaging of your catch is included. Accommodations and meals are provided in a modern ocean- front lodge with satellite tv, wifi, and all the amenities of home.

“The scenery was beautiful, fishing was good, and seeing the whales, brown bears, deer, and all other wildlife.  Catching big halibut was just icing on the cake!” (W.D. )
