Nov. – March
There are very few places on the planet where you can find world-class shooting combined with world-class accommodations and service, this destination has it mastered! Back in the late 60’s, Dwight D. Eisenhower hunted with this outfitter in the Chiricahueto Lagoon off the coastal marshes of southern Mexico and was so impressed, he encouraged his guide to establish a hunting club! Today, this 50,000 acre marsh is still in the family and is run by the original guides son, under a watchful eye and has upheld the tradition established, entertaining shooters from all over the world! In the fall and winter months, this destination becomes a waterfowlers paradise. Thousands of migratory North American waterfowl cloud the skies above the Chiricahueto Lagoon. Mexico has generous bag limits of 30 ducks per person per day; guests are awed not only by the number of birds but also by the variety of waterfowl they have the opportunity to shoot. The most abundant of the ducks species include the highly prized Pintail, Blue-Winged, Green-Winged and Cinnamon Teal, Pichigulia, and Spoonbill. Hunters regularly shoot limits of birds each day! During the hunting season from mid-November to early March, hunters often shoot 12 species of waterfowl. Guests get started early with breakfast each day before the hunt and head into the marsh where the will shoot over decoys from dry elevated blinds. The morning hunt concludes around 10:00am when you will return to the lodge to enjoy a wonderful meal and afternoon siesta. Afternoon hunts will begin around 3:30pm with another airboat ride through the marsh. At the conclusion of the afternoon hunt, guests enjoy world-class dining/cocktails and fellowship in preparation for the coming day! If you’re a serious waterfowler who likes the finer things in life and your outdoor experiences, this destination is a must. Please call WTA and let us share this truly world-class destination with you!
