North-Central Colorado Private Land Elk Hunt

Outfitter #762
Rifle, Archery

Archery: September

Rifle: October & November

This elk hunt takes place in north-central Colorado, which is home to one of the highest populations of elk in the state.  The outfitter has access to about 35,000 private acres on multiple properties.  The properties are on the fringes of forest and hay fields and consist of open sagebrush country surrounded by aspen, fir, and pine forests.  This area holds some of the best elk numbers in the state.  You and your guide will access the hunting area by vehicle and then hunt on foot.  At times, ground blinds are utilized and are a very effective way to hunt these properties.  This is a great option for the first time elk hunter or for someone with some physical limitations.  The hunt has produced a high success rate over the years on 5×5 and 6×6 bulls.  Accommodations consist of an authentic ranch house right on one of the properties.  The three bedroom house comfortably sleeps up to eight hunters.  There is a comfortable living room with satellite tv, full bathroom with shower, and a kitchen where a camp cook prepares hearty meals during your stay.  Your professional guide will take care of any field dressing, caping, and quartering of your trophy.  If you prefer, there is a game processor in town that can fully process your elk and arrange to have it frozen and shipped home for you (at your expense).  Non-resident licenses for archery elk and second and third rifle seasons in this area are available over-the-counter.
