June-August
This lodge has been producing trophy northern pike since 1964. Located less than 100 miles from the Northwest Territories border, deep in the Canadian wilderness, this world-class lodge provides anglers with fast-paced fishing for really big northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling and walleye. This is one of our most popular trips and with good reason. Our anglers catch and release an average of 25 big pike a day! Advanced anglers do even better. Much of the fishing involves sight-casting to pike in the 30″ to 50″ range in crystal clear water that’s just a few feet deep. The current lodge record is a huge 35 pound pike. Lake trout are also abundant, and when the bite is on, you can land dozens in just a few short hours. The lodge record is a monstrous 44 pound Laker with fish in the 4-10 pound range the norm. Arctic grayling are also abundant in the crystal clear and cold streams nearby. These fish are a lot of fun on ultra-light spinning or fly fishing tackle. This lake is at the far northern range for walleye. However, there are a few lakes nearby that consistently produce walleye in the 3-6 pound range (the lodge record is 10 pounds). There are several fly-out lakes nearby that receive little to no fishing pressure. The lodge keeps 2-3 boats at each location. Best of all, the lodge is easy to reach with round-trip air charters from Winnipeg right to the lodge. Accommodations are nothing short of deluxe. The main lodge is a three-level log structure perched atop a private island overlooking the lake. It features a dining area, game room, bar, and tackle shop, exercise room and kitchen. Guest cabins were crafted by local Native builders from hand-peeled locally harvested logs, offering the rustic beauty of a traditional cabin with all of the comforts of five-star hospitality. Each cabin has electricity, running water, and wood-burning stoves. Meals are outstanding. If you’re interested in world-class fishing in the Canadian wilderness with some of the finest accommodations found anywhere, then look no further.439
