YOUTH SPECIAL - Maine Black Bear Hunting Trip
Or Call: 1-800-346-8747
A Maine black bear hunt…… Now this is where the fun begins! The feeling of having a trophy black bear only yards from your tree stand is a rush that every person should experience at least once. And if you prefer not to hunt over bait, No problem! How about an action-packed bear hunt with hounds as a fast paced, high adrenaline bear hunt! Hounds help hunters harvest the largest bears in the woods – nocturnal bruins that avoid bait sites during daytime hours. Success Rates are high and trophy bears are common. Although the terrain is challenging, this hunt is not as physical as many hound hunts because logging roads improve access to remote habitat. Well trained hounds track bears from active bait sites that are monitored by Cuddeback cameras. Bears are pursued to their hiding places so you can get a shot at your trophy. Quality will be served from the equipment used, the guides/dogs, scouting, to the premium food and lodging. This outfitter also strives for quality and not quantity, taking very few bear hunters per week. Black bears are found in abundance around the lake and throughout the reserve, where they are attracted by many excellent food sources. Guided bear hunts begin in late August and take place from stands and blinds, with both rifle and archery hunters accommodated, and Hound hunts start in late September and continue through October. The guide will help recover and field dress your bear, drive you to the tagging station and butcher. He will also transport your hide to a local taxidermist. Success rates are above average with bears ranging from 4.5 feet up to exceeding 7 feet. All clients are bear hunting over active baits, and trail cameras are utilized to enhance success. This outfitter also provides bear hunters with private channel, 5 watt, 2-way radios for direct communication with your black bear guide. Guides have 50-watt radios in their vehicles, connected to mountain-top repeaters to stay in touch with each other and with the lodge. When your bear is down, help is on the way. There are no long waits at your stand. Comfortable log cabins are equipped with gas lights and heat, with each cabin having its own private bath. Fine cuisine is served in the historic dining room, which features Maine lobster, prime meats, and much more. These are high quality black bear hunts, reasonably priced, and ideally located. And don’t forget to bring your spouse! #035
