The Chartreuse & Vercors Chamois occupy the massifs north and south of the French City of Grenoble. The Chartreuse is far and away the largest bodied chamois in the family, with the Vercors a slightly smaller, but still fantastic animal to hunt. The hunting for the two chamois are often combined due to there close proximity and their unique differences being recognized by Capra World Slam, from our partners over at GSCO. The hunting is done in spot and stalk methods, with the possibility for Archery as well. Hunters should arrive in and out of Lyon. It is common for hunters to spend one week and complete the Chartreuse, Vercors, and Alpine all within a 75 Mile Radius.
