Nebraska Cow Bison Hunt

Dates:

September Through Mid October

This historic herd of American bison is a direct descendant of the same herd Buffalo Bill Cody once hunted. Still today, this naturally sustaining herd of bison sees no vaccinations or supplemental feeding programs and roams as they did back in 1867 during the time of Buffalo Bill. Cody’s original homestead sits just west of this 3,000-acre estate, which comprises some of the most unmanicured, undisturbed, rolling countryside found anywhere in the modern-day Lower 48.

A hunt for cow bison will allow you to not only experience the thrill of the hunt but also collect an impressive skull, rug, and 300-400 pounds of delicious meat for the freezer. Hunts will take place in September and early October. Meat quality will be exceptional during this timeframe as they’ve spent the summer grazing on lush pastures. All hunts will be conducted using spot & stalk hunting methods.

Hunts can be conducted with or without meals and lodging. For those who prefer to arrange their own lodging, several hotels can be found within a one-hour drive from the ranch. Lodging for these hunts will consist of a three bedroom ranch house where delicious home cooked meals will be served.
