September- Early November
This sprawling 9,000-acre ranch is home to a thriving mule deer herd, a substantial black bear population, and one of the state’s premier hunting lodges. Deer tags for this hunt are guaranteed, allowing you to bypass the draw and hunt outside the standard season dates, as this property is enrolled in Utah’s CWMU program. Bear tags are purchased over the counter, but hunters must adhere to the season dates of September 1 to October 27. Guaranteed tags, first-rate lodging, and high-quality hunting make this trip one not to be overlooked.
Historically, clients have had nearly a 100% chance of encountering 160-170+ inch bucks, with even larger bucks taken each year. Bears are a target of opportunity but they will be focused on food sources during this time period as they prepare to go-to den. PLEASE NOTE: This area does fall within a harvest objective unit for bear hunting. Once the state’s management objective is met the season will close. No refund of any kind will be provided due to such an occurrence. The ranch features a wide range of terrain, from steep mountainous areas requiring hiking to milder landscapes that can be easily navigated by pickups or side-by-sides, combined with short walks. These varied terrains make it an ideal location for groups with different levels of physical mobility. Hunts will primarily involve glassing from vantage points until a suitable buck is located. Once found, a stalk will be planned and executed with your guide. If spot-and-stalk techniques are not feasible, you will be positioned over meadows and trails that are easily accessible, allowing the bucks to come to you.
The lodge is a spacious log cabin that is sure to impress. It features six suites, each with a private bath, a large great room with a massive stone fireplace, and a vast patio, creating the perfect environment for hunters. Home-cooked meals will be served daily throughout the hunt, and dietary restrictions will be accommodated.
