September to December
Hunting in the Vosges region of France, particularly for chamois, offers a unique and challenging experience for hunters. The Vosges Mountains, located in northeastern France, are characterized by their rugged terrain, dense forests, and high-altitude pastures, providing an ideal habitat for chamois. These agile and elusive animals are well adapted to the steep and rocky landscapes, making hunting them a true test of skill and endurance.
Hunters will arrive to the hunting area from either Basel in Switzerland or Strasbourg in France. Transfers from Paris can also be arranged as it is a 5 hour drive, and is the closest Chamois species to the city. The generally lower elevation of the Vosges mountains means it is a hunt for all abilities.
The Vosges subspecies, is not yet an officially recognized subspecies of Chamois, but due to its history, and distinct range it has as strong of a case many of the other subspecies across Europe.
