December-January

This is the premier hunt for truly impressive mountain lion trophies. This fact can be attributed to top-tier guides that understand how to locate and target specific toms, and the fact hunts are operated in areas that possess superior genetics for such specimens.

Hunts are conducted December-January which historically offer the best conditions for cutting tracks. The area consists of vast hills and smaller mountains that are commercially logged which equates a robust and developed road system overall. Each day you will head afield with the outfitter and his experienced team in search of a suitable tom track. Clients will have the option to accompany guides on a snowmobile or stay in the pickup while they search for tracks. This is influenced by temperature, topography, snow conditions, and hunters physically ability to cover vast areas on snowmobile. Once a suitable track is located that meets trophy expectations the hounds will be released to trail the cat, either baying it on the ground or forcing it up a tree. Once caught you will sneak into the location, ensure the tom is of suitable age and quality, then move into a suitable position to take a shot.

The ability to add on a second lion, lynx, and bobcat only adds to the appeal of such a trip. If you have a strong desire to harvest lynx and bobcats, December is ideal as these smaller cats become much harder to harvest later in the season due to deep snow conditions.

Meals and lodging are not included with the trip. Lodging will come by way of local hotels in Kamloops or Kelowna with airport charters being included. Meals will be available at local restaurants with snacks and drinks being packed into the field.
