Eastern Oregon Mule Deer Hunt

Outfitter #622
from
$5,750

Oregon may not be widely recognized for its mule deer hunting, but it certainly deserves more attention. Many units east of the Cascade Mountains consistently produce bucks in the 140-160 inch range, with the potential for even larger trophies. This outfitter offers hunts in some of the state’s most productive areas, providing a diverse range of habitats and terrains. Whether you’re seeking a physically demanding backpack-style hunt or a more relaxed hunt from a comfortable base camp, this outfitter can cater to your preferences.

The best way to secure a tag for these hunts is through a guaranteed tag offered by the outfitter, which must be claimed by March 31st. Alternatively, tags can be obtained through the state’s draw system, with most units requiring 4-8 points, and the top-tier units typically needing 20+ points. WTA can assist you with building points and applying for tags or securing an outfitter tag.

These hunts are generally conducted from a base camp, which features a comfortable wall tent setup with a cook on-site. Hunters access different areas of the unit via pickup and hiking. For the more remote backpack hunts, you’ll hike to a spike camp and hunt from there. These hunts are a great option for anyone one looking for a good solid mature mule deer hunt with the average trophy being in the 150’s.
