Wingshooting in Iceland with this outfitter offers a uniquely rugged and rewarding experience for hunters drawn to the dramatic landscapes and abundant birdlife of the North Atlantic. This outfitter, a premier Icelandic guide service with decades of experience, provides access to exclusive hunting grounds across the island, including remote coastal areas, volcanic uplands, and pristine wetlands. Their wingshooting trips typically focus on ptarmigan, geese, and ducks, all of which thrive in Iceland’s wild, windswept terrain.

One of the highlights of this outfitter’s wingshooting offerings is the goose hunting, especially for greylag and pink-footed geese. These birds migrate through Iceland in great numbers, providing challenging shooting and thrilling flights. The guides, often locals with deep knowledge of bird behavior and terrain, set up well-camouflaged blinds and decoy spreads in areas of peak migration. Duck hunting, especially for species like common eider and mallard, is also offered, with hunts taking place along remote lakes, rivers, and estuaries.

For upland hunters, Iceland’s elusive rock ptarmigan is a prized and traditional game bird. Found in highlands and lava fields, ptarmigan hunting requires good physical fitness and a willingness to hike through rough, often snowy ground. The reward is a true backcountry adventure, immersed in Iceland’s stark and beautiful scenery.

This outfitter provides a full-service experience, including accommodations in rustic lodges or comfortable country hotels, transport, licenses, and experienced guides. Their wingshooting packages combine the spirit of the Icelandic wilderness with high standards of hospitality and guiding. Whether you’re after a challenging bird hunt or simply a new and exotic hunting destination, wingshooting with this outfitter in Iceland delivers a memorable blend of nature, culture, and sport.
