April
With over two decades of professional outfitting experience and exclusive access to 15,000+ acres of private land—plus an additional 30,000+ acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land that is largely inaccessible to the public—this family-run ranch and outfitting service offers some of the best odds for a successful Merriam’s turkey hunt.
You’ll be hunting in classic Merriam’s turkey habitat featuring pine-covered hills, rugged canyons, and expansive meadows. With most of the terrain sitting at just 3,000 feet above sea level, elevation won’t be a limiting factor for most hunters.
Our guided turkey hunts utilize a combination of run-and-gun strategies and stationary setups over meadows frequented by birds. All hunts are led by experienced, knowledgeable guides who are passionate about turkey hunting. Hunters can expect to cover 1–4 miles per day while tracking and pursuing trophy toms.
Our hunts are strategically scheduled from mid-April through early May—prime time for peak gobbling activity, maximizing the experience and your chances of success. Shot opportunities on mature Merriam’s toms are extremely high.
After a rewarding day in the field, you’ll return to a comfortable two-bedroom ranch house (double occupancy rooms) with a shared bathroom. Enjoy hearty home-cooked breakfasts and dinners, while sack lunches are provided for your days in the field.
