September – October
This outfitter’s camp is located at the heart of some of the best big game hunting that Wyoming has to offer. Located in the Bridger Teton National Forest it encompasses the famous deer hunting of Wyoming’s Region G. This outfit is dedicated to providing an experience as well as an adventure of a lifetime.
Region G has produced many trophy bucks over the years and continues to have some of the best big buck-producing genetics found anywhere in the West. This hunt will take place in the Salt River Mountain range along the Greys River. Hunting will be conducted on horseback. Long days of glassing large basins is the name of the game with stalks planned once a trophy has been spotted. Success on these wilderness hunts will rely mostly on a good positive attitude and a reasonable physical ability. Being able to hike and navigate through the high country, where the horses cannot access, is critical to your success.
Camps consist of comfortable and spacious wall tents with wood stoves, cots, and covered floors. Top-of-the-line mountain horses, mules, and tack will be utilized to transport you to camp which is located approximately 6 hours from the trailhead. You will traverse creeks, rocky terrain, and some of the most beautiful country that Wyoming has to offer en route to your secluded camp in the high country.
This hunt does require you to draw a Wyoming, Region G deer tag. Historically, clients will need to have seven points in the “Special” to guarantee a successful draw, but there is a random element to Wyoming’s drawing system, so an applicant applying for the first time still has a chance.
If you have further questions regarding this awesome back-country, mule deer hunting opportunity, or would like assistance with applying in the Wyoming deer draw, please contact WTA TAGS at 800-755-TAGS (8247).
