Venture into the rugged, remote mountain ranges of Northeastern Utah—prime territory for one of North America’s most elusive predators: the mountain lion. With exclusive access to both public lands and vast stretches of private terrain, this outfitter will take you where the odds of a successful hunt are at their highest.
Led by seasoned, passionate houndsmen and their highly trained dogs—born and bred to pursue lions—this is a pursuit like no other. From snow-covered slopes to dry-ground tracking, conditions vary dramatically throughout the season, offering a dynamic and thrilling challenge at every turn. Depending on the weather, transportation may include pickups, UTVs, or snowmobiles to get you into prime hunting territory.
This hunt targets mature mountain lions, including both toms and females. Be prepared—these hunts are physically demanding, and your level of fitness can directly influence your success.
While meals and lodging are not included in the trip price, the nearby town of Vernal, Utah offers a wide variety of comfortable lodging options to suit your needs.
5 Day Hunt- 2 Guides/ 1 Client: $6,000 (Client will be refunded $3,000 if a legal lion is not caught during the hunt)
Refund will not be issued if client is unable to make it to the lion due to physical inability. Hunters are welcome to use a pistol or archery equipment but guides will have a rifle for use if the cat will not allow for a close enough shot.
Utah Hunting License & Lion Tag: $400 (approx)
Includes: 5 day guided hunt/ 2 guides per 1 client, in-field transportation, in-field trophy care, assistance transporting trophy to local taxidermist.
Excludes: travel to/from Vernal UT, license/tag, accommodation, meals, taxidermy/shipping of trophy parts, alcoholic beverages, gratuities.

Day 1: Travel from home to Vernal Utah to the accommodation of your choice.
Day 2-6: Hunting days. Please plan to be in the field all day, pack necessary drinks, snacks and medications needed for the entire day.
Day 7: Travel from Vernal to home.
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
