This ranch is comprised of approximately 12,000 acres (non-contiguous) in some of New Mexico’s finest elk country. Elk densities are astounding and the quality of bulls here is exceptional; 300+/- inch bulls are the norm with bulls over 350 being present on the ranch each and every year. Bull to cow ratios are at roughly 50:100, so the ranch typically experiences a very intense rut, making it one of the top archery/early rifle hunts available. After the rut concludes the cows will leave this ranch and a large influx of bulls will take up residence and spend the winter here. Hunts on this property are strategically scheduled around the rut as well as the post rut migration of bulls onto the ranch.
The ranch is comprised of rolling hills with intermittent canyons between 5,800-7,500 feet in elevation. Vegetation on the ranch is mainly comprised of broken meadows, oak brush, pinon trees, juniper trees and the occasional large conifer patch. At these lower elevations natural water is no longer abundant but this ranch has a developed water network ensuring the elk have all of their necessities readily available. Due to the mild topography, coupled with present road network, hunts can be adapted and enjoyed by sportsmen of all physical abilities.
Outfitting services will be provided by a highly experienced team that is local to the area and thoroughly understands hunting elk in this environment. Hunting techniques during the archery/early rifle season will consist of calling, spot & stalk, or sitting on known water/food sources. Early archery hunt will heavily favor sitting over water sources as the rut is yet to begin. The latter rifle hunt will consist of many hours perched on glassing points scouring the country for bachelor groups of bulls, once a suitable bull is found a stalk will be planned and executed.
At the end of a day’s hunt you will retreat to a modern and comfortable cabin that contains all of the amenities of home.  The cabin contains five bedrooms, three bathrooms and two large living rooms. All meals will be prepared fresh each day and served indoors or outside dependent on the weather.
