Situated within the world-famous Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) of the Brooks Range in Alaska, this backpack style dall sheep hunt is operated by a second generation Alaska outfitter and Master Guide. The outfitter only takes four sheep hunters each season ( two at a time) with two guides for each hunter. ANWR encompasses nearly twenty million acres of some of the remote and untouched wilderness in the state. Once you see the sheer expanse and vastness of the area, you will never forget it. This hunting concession is a sole guide use area where the outfitter has exclusive guiding rights to non-residents.

Dall sheep hunts takes place in August and early September. You will be flown in by bush place to a remote landing strip or gravel bar to meet your guide. Hunting is backpack style, spot and stalk from a simple tented spike camp. You’ll hunt as a mobile unit, moving camp as needed while hunting the rugged mountainsides and valleys in search of a mature ram. Once located and the time is right, a thoughtful stalk is planned to get within shooting range. Arctic grizzly and caribou can also be harvested on a trophy fee basis if the opportunity presents itself.

The sheep population in Alaska is beginning to rebound from the harsh Winters it saw several years ago. Our outfitters are reporting seeing a steady increase in the overall number of sheep, including mature rams. In fact, this outfitter went 4 for 4 in 2025.
