September to December
The first of its kind, the French Chamois Slam is an extraordinary two-week mountain adventure designed to take serious Capra hunters across all of France’s major alpine regions in pursuit of all five chamois subspecies: Alpine, Pyrenean, Vercors, Vosges, and Chartreuse. From the towering peaks of the Alps and the dramatic ridgelines of the Pyrenees to the forested Vosges, limestone cliffs of the Vercors, and the wild, rugged Chartreuse massif, this journey delivers unmatched diversity in both terrain and hunting experience. The 14-day itinerary includes 10 full hunting days, typically planned as two days per subspecies, with scenic driving days between regions or optional helicopter transfers to maximize time in the field. Guests enjoy 4-star accommodations throughout the trip, with the option for more rustic mountain lodges for those seeking a traditional alpine experience, and are accompanied by a private guide for the entire journey. Pickup and drop-off are included in Paris and Toulouse (or vice versa), making logistics seamless. Additional species such as red stag, mouflon, fallow deer, wild boar, and mainland Corsican mouflon can be added to further enhance the experience. The season runs from September through December, with the peak rut in November offering the best hunting conditions.
