Katmai National Preserve in Alaska, located along the shores of Lake Iliamna, is home to one of the highest concentrations of brown bears anywhere in the world. This seasoned outfitter operates within an exclusive guide area inside this remarkable ecosystem, offering a limited number of spring and fall hunts to ensure a truly high-quality, personalized experience.

Spring hunts span 10 days and center around long hours behind the glass, targeting mature boars that have recently emerged from their dens and are beginning to rut. Fall hunts, also 10 days in duration, coincide with the region’s legendary salmon runs, drawing in concentrations of bears and creating some of the most consistent opportunities for trophy-class bears anywhere on the Alaska Peninsula.

While there is no “easy” brown bear hunt, hunters should be prepared for long days, variable terrain, and challenging weather conditions. Those willing to embrace the experience will be rewarded with exceptional opportunity, including strong densities of 9-foot-plus bears, guided by some of the most experienced and professional bear guides in Alaska.

Travel is straightforward yet remote. Hunters will fly into Anchorage, AK and overnight before continuing to Iliamna, AK the following day. From there, an inclusive bush flight delivers you deep into the concession, where you’ll spend the next 10 days immersed in true wilderness. Accommodations are backcountry tent camps, designed to provide a balance of rugged authenticity and dependable semi-comfort in a remote Alaskan setting.

This is a world-class destination for those seeking one of North America’s most iconic trophies. Due to limited availability and the outfitter’s controlled harvest approach, early booking is essential. Spring hunts are conducted in even-numbered years, while fall hunts take place in odd-numbered years.
