Iowa is a must apply state for any true whitetail deer hunter. While much of Iowa requires two points to draw shotgun or muzzleloader tags (hunting in year 3), and five or more points to draw the archery tag (hunting in year six), this unit allows you to draw the firearm tags with zero points and it only typically takes one point to draw the November rut archery tag. This means you can hunt more often, increasing your chances of harvesting a true Iowa giant.
Much of Zone 3 consists of open terrace farmland with few trees and very little deer habitat. However, this WTA endorsed outfitter controls an outstanding piece of property with plenty of mature trees and thick cover. It provides great deer bedding areas and travel corridors that hold deer year round. This property also boasts agricultural fields that serve as a great food source. Hunting big deer isn’t just about the zone it is more about the property and this property holds big deer.
The archery hunts take place during the rut in November. The 1st and 2nd shotgun hunts take place in early December and the muzzleloader hunt will be held in early January.
The outfitter has several elevated box blinds and quality Millennium ladder stands making for a more comfortable sit, while you wait out that Iowa giant. On this hunt you will stay in a nice comfortable lodge/house. You will have single occupancy rooms and eat good food.
Don’t wait years and years to hunt the legendary bucks of the Hawkeye State. Call WTA TAGS today to discuss this awesome offering and be on your way! 1-800-755-8247.
