Northeastern Namibia has long been recognized as one of Africa’s premier destinations for trophy elephant. Since 2023, harvested bulls in this area have averaged over 65 pounds per side, with one bull exceeding 90 pounds. Hunters can realistically expect opportunities at mature bulls in the 50-80 pound range. Conservative quota management combined with more than 250,000 acres of hunting area helps maintain exceptional trophy quality year after year.

From July through October, large numbers of elephants move into the area in search of water and abundant forage, creating outstanding hunting opportunities. Hunts are typically conducted from Toyota Land Cruisers, covering roads and water sources while searching for fresh tracks. Once a suitable track is located, the team will either move ahead to relocate the bull or begin tracking on foot, depending on the age of the track. The professional hunters and local trackers have decades of experience and possess an impressive ability to interpret sign and stay with a bull through challenging conditions.

When a bull is located, it will be carefully evaluated to ensure it is a mature animal that meets both trophy expectations and sound management objectives. Due to the thick bushveld, shots are often taken inside 100 yards and frequently much closer. Some walking is required on these hunts, although the pace and intensity can be adjusted to accommodate hunters of varying physical abilities.

For hunters seeking the experience of pursuing Africa’s largest game animal without the cost associated with a trophy bull, non-trophy elephant hunts are also available at a significantly reduced rate. These hunts are typically conducted for mature bulls that have broken tusks and are selected as part of the area’s management objectives. Hunters can expect the same style of hunt, tracking experience, and close encounters that make elephant hunting so special. Please note that non-trophy elephant harvested under these permits are not exportable and cannot be imported as trophies.

While elephant is the primary focus, the concession also supports a healthy leopard population along with an excellent variety of plains game. Species commonly available include roan, eland, kudu, blue wildebeest, giraffe, gemsbok, warthog, steenbok, and grey duiker. The combination of trophy elephant, leopard, and diverse plains game creates an outstanding all-around safari experience.

Accommodations consist of a comfortable tented camp featuring private tents with ensuite bathrooms, hot running water, electricity, and excellent meals prepared daily. After the day’s hunt, guests can relax around the campfire and share stories while preparing for the next day’s adventure.
