December – January
7 – day hunts
This hunt takes place in the heart of Sonora, Mexico otherwise known as Old Mexico. Outfitting this area for over a decade, they specialize in trophy mule deer and coues deer hunting. All hunts are conducted on private ranches that have been strictly managed for trophy quality. Hunts are conducted 1×1 by experienced English-speaking guides with a passion for hunting trophy bucks. Hunters can expect to spend several hours daily glassing and spot-and-stalk hunting. These ranches are thick and hunters need to be prepared for quick shots. Top-end Muleys will push 200″ and with the long-term average over 180 B&C. Coues deer can be harvested on a trophy fee basis. Accommodations are a comfortable and clean Hacienda with traditional Mexican cuisine served daily. This outfitter is very limited on hunts available annually so give us a call today.

Ranch Houses
All hunters should plan to travel to Tucson where the outfitter will pick you up at the airport and drive you to the ranch. They will also handle your firearms permit.
Coues deer tags are available as a supplement to most mule deer hunts for $8,000. This is payable only if the hunter wounds or kills an animal. Non-Hunters may accompany any hunter for $125/day.
Additional days are also a possible option. Each additional day should be pre-arranged and has to be confirmed by the outfitter. The cost per day is $1000/Day.
The Hunting
Hunting with this outfitter is a true Safari Style experience. They generally set out in the trucks 30 minutes before sunrise and make their way to the area that you will be hunting that morning. They generally have high racks in all of their trucks so that hunters can see the big buck over the vegetation. The high racks are most critical for mule deer hunts. As mule deer areas are generally flat, the high rack provides a major advantage to the trophy seeker. Many of their biggest bucks have been taken by hunters out of a high rack.
Glassing is a very important element of hunts in the Western U.S. and particularly in Mexico. They specifically select ranches to acquire based on the availability of excellent glassing hills and use only the best optics to find all of the bucks in a particular area. From their hills, you can generally see many more deer than you would in a tree stand or walking through the desert. This is extremely important as you can quietly select a buck that fulfills your trophy dreams from one of many bucks that you will see from your vantage point.
They are unique in the fact that they employ only English speaking guides. They have learned through experience and client feedback that communication between hunter and guide is extremely important. While hunting with this outfitter, you will always be able to converse with their guide while discussing a potential trophy, making a stalk, or making plans for the next day.
Once you have your trophy buck down, their guides work to dress the animal and prepare it for your trophy room. The only thing that you are responsible for is telling a good story back at camp!
The Ranches
The ranches that they acquire are real working cattle ranches. The owners of the ranches agree to lease the property to them for the duration of the hunting season. The terrain varies from ranch to ranch, but is not typical of what one thinks of when the phrase “desert hunting” comes to mind. The areas are full of mesquite, palo blancos, palo verdes, cholla cactus, and other desert vegetation. There is year round water to support the mind numbing numbers of big, healthy deer.
The Rest
There are a few other things that they want to make sure that you’re aware of before booking with them.
What documentation do I need to bring with me to Mexico?
New United States law requires a valid U.S. passport for re-entry. Your passport will also serve as identification to obtain a Mexican travel visa.
What will I need to bring?
A sleeping bag, pillow, a towel, personal items, a rifle and ammunition is all that you will need to bring with you. If you would like alcoholic beverages, you can purchase those in Hermosillo prior to the hunt.
What is included in my Trophy Hunt Package?
They will provide you with the following: Gun permit, hunting permit, 3 meals a day during your hunt, trophy care, experienced guides, transfers to and from the airport (if flying), a Mexican employee to assist in crossing the border and filling out visa and other paperwork (if driving, add $50.00).
How many other hunters can I expect to see in my area?
Just those hunting with this outfitter at that time! They buy the exclusive rights to hunt a particular ranch in a given year. This means that you and your group (usually 4-6 hunters total) will be the only ones hunting our ranches that year.
How big are the ranches that I will have access to?
Most of the ranches that they hunt are between 10,000 and 50,000 acres. You and your party will have this area to yourselves with no interference from other hunters, hikers, campers, etc. like in the U.S.
What else can I expect when hunting in Mexico?
Just as you would expect differences hunting in Arizona vs. hunting in Colorado, you should expect differences when hunting in Mexico. The laws for temporary importation of firearms are much stricter than in the U.S. Legal hunting areas are defined by ranch boundaries, and not State Game and Fish boundaries. There are other subtle differences when hunting in Mexico as well.
That said, this is where they come in. They have the experience necessary to make your hunt enjoyable and hassle free. They are with you every step of the way to ensure that you have no problems crossing the border, returning with your trophy, etc. They have strong relationships with wildlife officials on both sides of the border.
Can I expect to go home with a trophy mule deer or coues deer?
Just like hunting anywhere, your success depends on a number of factors including hunter skill and weather. In general, the number of trophy quality deer far surpasses the number that may be encountered in the United States. Think of it this way… Some of the premium whitetail areas in Arizona may see 3,000 legal hunters in a given year. Our ranches see a maximum of 8 hunters per year.
High Fence Areas?
All of the deer you see on our website are taken the good, old-fashioned way. They never hunt deer in a high fence.
