October – November 5-day hunts
This adventurous hunt takes place in one of the most scenic areas of Alaska – the majestic “Kodiak Island”. WTA’s longtime outfitter has been offering un-guided Blacktail deer hunts off of his 64′ ft yacht for several years. This hunt offers the sportsman the ability to hunt remote areas of the island with first-class accommodations and excellent meals. Hunters are taken to the areas on skiffs and dropped off on the beach where you will begin your hunt. The deer population is very good, and for experienced DIY hunters, it is not unrealistic to harvest potentially three trophy-class Blacktails during your hunt. Hunters will need to bring their own frame pack as hunters will be responsible for packing their game back to the beach for pick up. In addition to the outstanding deer hunting, hunters can hunt a variety of trophy sea ducks to often including Harlequin, Barrows Goldeneye, Old Squaw, and Scoter. All-in-all, this is a very reasonably priced hunt for DIY sportsmen looking to expand their horizons. Hunters need to be physically and mentally prepared as the weather can be very wet and cool and you will need to be proficient with meat and trophy handling in the field. Accommodations are a 64-foot deluxe yacht with an estate room, double occupancy bedrooms, and bathrooms with showers. Gourmet meals are also included. This outfitter limits each outing to six hunters so early reservations are required. Give us a call today
