Maine’s state wildlife biologist estimates the Canadian moose population to be between 60,000 and 70,000 animals. With only roughly 3,000 tags being issued annually, mostly via lottery draw, this makes hunting moose in this great state unsurpassed. Average bull moose typically stretch the tape between 40–55″ and top-end bulls can be as large as 60″…with all the rigging!

Calling moose sounds easy, but there is much more to it than just calling. Call placement, wind direction, scent, sight, and sound all factor into a successful setup. When done correctly, the sights and sounds of a trophy bull moose snapping branches and grunting on his way to the call is beyond exhilarating.

Depending upon the zone drawn, our outfitter has the accommodations in place. For hunters drawing Zones 2, 3, or 6 you will have the choice of staying at a beautiful historic hunting camp right on Eagle Lake or being closer to town and staying at a nice bed and breakfast with cell and wifi services available. For the lucky applicant drawing zones 1, 4, or 5 our outfitter will set up an outpost, four-star, tent camp facility with fresh linens and a hot shower.

Fine cuisine is served daily from each camp and features Delmonico steaks and fresh cold water Maine lobster during your stay.
