This outfitter offers exclusive hunting privileges on over 100,000 deeded acres in Utah, extending into Colorado. Hunt this outfitter’s family ranch, which was homesteaded in the mid 1800’s, along with the neighboring working cattle ranches. Not only experience the thrill of pursing the majestic mountain lion through the Rocky Mountains, but also witness symbols of the American West. From Indian artifacts, outlaw history and the country western atmosphere, you are treated like friends and family! With the use of this deeded ground, along with Forest Service and BLM permits on neighboring properties, this outfitter runs nearly 100% success. Accommodations can consist of a ranch house or travel trailers depending on the area hunted. If hotel/motel accommodations are utilized it is the clients responsibility to cover this cost.
$8,750 (5-day hunt)
Utah – $65 non-resident plus $258 cougar harvest objective permit, which can be purchased by phone at the regional DWR office (435-781-9453) and the outfitter will pick up for you.; *Permit must be purchased at least three days prior to hunting. Colorado permit can be purchased on arrival for approx. $351. Â Colorado mountain lion exam must be taken online prior to purchasing a tag; www.cpw.state.co.us
Fly to Salt Lake City, rent a vehicle, and drive to Vernal.
Easy: Somewhat easy walking when it comes to physicality. Minimal walking or hiking and terrain is very accessible. Mostly hunting from blinds or tree stands.
Moderate: Physicality is somewhat moderate to advanced. Spot and stalk method of hunting as well as some hunting from blinds. Terrain can vary from prairies to mountains at higher elevations.
Difficult: Requires an advanced degree of physical endurance. Terrain is typically more mountainous and hunting can take place at higher elevation.
Extreme: Most difficult and physically demanding hunts. Requires advanced to extreme endurance and terrain or game pursued may involve dangerous situations.
