4-day hunts from September through March (Sunday – Friday travel days)
This outfitter truly specializes in hunting free range aoudad rams and has invested more than 30 years in the pursuit of them. He is widely recognized throughout the hunting industry as the leading authority on wild aoudad sheep in Texas, and has successfully guided over 300 aoudad hunts. He holds these sheep in very high regard and likes to refer to them as the Barbary Bighorn of the southwest. He is totally devoted to producing exceptional trophies for his clients and his hunters have taken three of the top ten aoudad in the latest SCI record book.  In the past five seasons he has guided eight rams that score from 148′ – 156″ SCI! He and his guide are seasoned sheep hunters with six private ranches that total over 400,000 acres!  They typically take 2-4 rams a year off each ranch, that’s it, and only take older age class 10+ year old rams.  It’s not uncommon to see 100 rams on a four day hunt with 4-6 trophy rams.  When you completely focus on hunting one specie, you become very adept at it and that is exactly what this outfitter and his guides have done. All they do is hunt aoudad sheep and they produce more big rams than anyone else, with an average of 30″ plus! They do a tremendous amount of scouting prior to your hunt and will have a big ram(s) located for you. The country they hunt is vast and rugged, so be prepared for a true sheep hunt.  However, they have properties that can accommodate just about any hunter.  Accommodations consist of ranch houses and lodges, or a comfortable tent camp, with all meals provided.  They typically take two hunters at a time and have quality optics and vehicles.  You’ll access the property via 4×4 jeeps glassing along the way until a mature ram is located.  Then, the stock is on!  If you’re looking for the ultimate, free range trophy aoudad hunt, this is it! #462
