Guided Sitka Blacktail and Sea Duck Hunt On Kodiak Island

Hunt the unique Sitka blacktail deer in one of the most enchanting places in America: Kodiak Island. Our Master Guide Outfitter has been operating in this area for over 40 years. The deer population is related to the previous winter but success rates over the past decade surpass 80% on quality deer. Bucks average around 95″ B&C, though deer up to 120 inches have been taken. This hunt is focused during the pre-rut and rut when bucks are typically found lower on the mountain side chasing does. However, if the winter weather isn’t set-in hiking to higher country will be required to be successful. The hunt is based out of a very comfortable 2,500 square foot lodge with warm beds and home cooked meals. You will access different hunting areas via skiff and then on foot. Other activities here include fox and sea duck hunting. Over 10 species are available including Harlequin, Barrow’s Goldeneye, Scoters and Old Squaw. You usually hunt over decoys, although pass and jump shooting are also used. This is a well-rounded adventure geared for the traveling sportsmen.
