This western Colorado spot and stalk black bear hunt is one of the best you will find in the lower 48. The topography and vegetation found within this area will range from high mountain plateau’s, oak brush transitional areas and large amounts of pinon & juniper woodlands. Due to the diversity of the terrain in this unit we can accommodate hunters of almost any physical condition. Bear densities in this area are remarkable with most hunters glassing multiple bears a day. The hunting area is scouted year round to ensure each client has the best chance at succes. Our outfitter focuses on harvesting mature trophy sized boars and carries a near 100% shot opportunity at trophy boars. Roughly 50% of hunters harvest a color phase bear, red and blonde are the most common colorphases in the area. Hunters can expect to glass from multiple vantage points throughout the day. Once a desirable bear is spotted you will approach as close as possible on foot. Predator calls have also proven effective in luring bears into shooting distance.
