September- Early October
Nestled along the Alberta border you will find this sprawling 40,000 acre private ranch that truly is an archery elk hunter’s paradise. The ranch varies in elevation from 4,500 to nearly 7,000 feet above sea level and uniquely contains its own isolated mountain range. This range is steep, rugged, and vastly road less, making it ideal habitat for the large resident elk herds that call this area home. Currently elk populations in the area are at record highs. At the base of this isolated range you will find vast crop fields and prairies that ensure high quality, readily available feed is available year round.
With over 20 years of outfitting experience (15 years on this ranch), our outfitter has the knowledge and experience to put you on bulls as well as the professionalism to ensure each client leaves having a high quality, memorable, overall experience. Hunters can expect to utilize a mixture of techniques throughout the course of a week that include spot & stalk, calling, and sitting on active wallows. Bulls on the ranch bugle freely and readily respond to calling throughout the rut which only adds to the overall experience of an archery elk hunt. The outfitter targets bulls that will be range from 280-320 inches with the outside chance of taking something much larger. Shots will vary but proficiency out to 50 yards with a bow is advised. Historically speaking, archers have experienced 90% shot opportunity on this hunt. Archers need to be prepared physically prior to arrival as one’s ability to hike will have a large influence on the success of the hunt. Overall, if you are an archery looking for a classic western elk hunt that loves to hunt hard this option should absolutely be on your radar!
