Idaho Moose – The Most Overlooked Draw in the West

If moose hunting is one of your bucket list hunts, you cannot miss Idaho’s April 30th – moose, sheep, mountain goat – application deadline.

Idaho only allows the applicant to apply for one of these species – CHOOSE ONE: moose, or sheep, or goat. This system equates to the perfect storm for those of you trying to draw a coveted Shiras moose tag, as the bulk of the applicants apply for sheep.

Idaho will issue up to 66 Shiras moose tags to non-residents in 2018. Moose can be found nearly statewide with quality bulls being present in almost every unit.  Draw odds from 10%-25% are not uncommon in Idaho, which is truly astounding compared to many other western states that can easily take 20+ years to draw a Shiras moose tag. With drawing odds often better than 1 in 10, applying for Shiras moose in Idaho is a no-brainer.

To apply, non-residents must purchase the $164.75 hunting license, and submit the $2,101.75 tag fee at time of application. Remember, if utilizing the services of WTA TAGS we’ll float this tag fee on your behalf! We make it easy!

If you are interested in applying, or would like further information, contact WTA TAGS at 1-800-755-TAGS(8247). The April 30th Idaho moose, sheep, goat application deadline is just a few weeks away so call us today!
