Brian Heywood was born in Northern Minnesota and started his outdoor adventures at a very early age. His Dad was a fisheries biologist in Minnesota so the family had abundant opportunities for fishing and hunting in the vast Northwoods of Minnesota. Growing up he was able to spend time every year on the Delta Marsh in Manitoba hunting waterfowl.

From those roots he started guiding waterfowl and eventually started a Waterfowl outfitting business in Argentina which he ran for more than 2 decades.
